SYNOPSIS

Imperial Briefs is a flip on the 1937 Hans Christian Andersen story of the Emperor’s New Clothes. In this version, two criminals named Itchy and Scratchy, devise a pretend career in the ‘imaginary arts’ to trick the Imperial Highness and rid him of his wealth for themselves. They scheme a way to become the Imperial Highness’s new tailors and promise to deliver to him unspeakably beautiful and magical clothing that will allow the Imperial Highness to discern corruption within his palace. A handy skill to have if you are in charge! Fortunately, for Itchy and Scratchy, the Imperial Highness is tremendously vain and so they are gainfully employed, and their elaborate pretending begins.
